Young children's Theory of mind is an important component of their cognitive development and there is a significant correlation between young children's TOM and their cognition and behaviors, TOM research areas in developmental psychology. The exploring of the developmental course and mechanism of the TOM understanding such as the influence of early family experience on TOM development. The young children's general developmental character and their individual differences with TOM's study is not only deepen the TOM's study but also guide the educational practice especially the early education in families and kindergarters. Moreover. This research discusses the relationship between young children's TOM and their adaptive behaviors by means of the combination of quantitative analysis and qualitative description, the results show:1.3-year-old children generally lack TOM ability and those of 5 years old can finish the TOM task which is in consistence with previous concerning studies.2. There is a consistent tendency for different young children's TOM development. In addition, There is a significant correlation on various performances of young children in which relatively great difference exists that is their performance show to be task-specific.3.There exist individual differences in young children's performance on various TOM tasks the performance of young children in cities is better than that of those in rural areas and girls perform better than boys.4 .A certain adaptive deficiency exists in most young children. The older they are the better their adaptive behaviors are besides the girls can be more adaptable than boys while young children in cities are more adaptable than those in rural areas.5.The young children's TOM and adaption are based on early family factors, Both the parents' knowledge level and main tenders rearing patterns have significant influences on the children's TOM and their adaptive behaviors.6.There is a great correlation between young children's TOM and their adaptive behaviors, The better their TOM's development is, The better their adaptive behaviors are .
