Because of their subtle sense of art and special culture background, Afro-American women writers have constructed their own literature system. Depending on the endeavor of several generations, the most splendid glory of Afro-American literature has belonged to these black women since the 1970s'.The paper in brief reviews the history of Afro-American and the track of the development of their literature, shows the influence of the American civilization and the Afro-American traditions on the literature of black women. At the same time, the thesis painstakingly analyses some magnum opuses of Zora Neale Hurston, Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, emphasizes the sharp-cut feminine stand in their writings. In fact, these black women writers not only widen the scope of readers but also demonstrate the essential significance of Afro-American culture to American literature world.
