Several thousand years of feudalism history resulted in serious lack of Chinese female' s personal values. With the inflow of western ideological trend, discovering of individual became the key merits in the May Fourth period. On the demand of history and that era, Ibsen, with his works, entered into the visual field of Chinese. Nora, the most famous character created by Ibsen, was the feminine model of that time. The voice of "I' ma person" resounded in the heart of Chinese suffering female per-manently.In the literary circles of the May Fourth period, many writers followed the example of Ibsen' s famous work "A Doll' s House" , creating lots of vivid Nora image, which reappeared the process of Chinese female' s awakening in the May Fourth period and the painful reconstruction of self-values.This article is composed of three parts. The first part mainly discusses the dereviation of Nora image, analyzing the historic reasons which caused the emerging of Nora image in literary circles of the May Fourth period. The second part is the main part. It discusses the inheritance and development of Ibsen' s "A Doll' s House" ,which reflected in Nora image of the May Fourth literature. This is divided into three aspects:Nora before the awake, Nora after the awake and Nora after fleeing.
