| This thesis aims at developing a reflective approach to teaching in order that a teacher may achieve professional development because teacher quality is one of the key elements which determine the success of education. Such theories as Pedagogy, Constructivism and Humanism provide theoretic bases for the appropriateness of reflective teaching in English Language Teaching (ELT). The process of reflective teaching is mainly practiced through some systematic techniques and procedures. Meanwhile, teacher quality is not only the goal of reflective teaching but also the concrete contents of professional development in terms of teacher morality, teacher knowledge and teacher skills. That is to say, reflective teachers should develop themselves in these aspects so as to accomplish reflective teaching. There is a reciprocal relation between these elements. At the end, a personal reflective model is presented to support the point of view. |
