Western Feminism And Chinese Feminine Writing In The Context Of Postmodernism

Postmodernism has an extensive and deep impact on the development of feminism. It provides new analytical view and theoretical weapon for feminism, helping it jump off the theory plight it used to face and realizing the evolvement from political ideology to cultural construction, which changes feminism criticism from macro aspect to micro aspect. Borrowing "difference" concept and "power discourse" theory from postmodernism, feminism has pushed its deconstruction and criticism to logos-centrism and traditional metaphysics to a new height. Deeply influenced by postmodernism way of thinking, feminism epistemology itself also experienced a process of deconstruction, displacing and reconstruction, developing to a higher level.In Chinese society, the penetration of postmodernism theory brought by globalization is an undisputable fact. The review of Chinese feminine writing should be taken into the context of postmodernism. This thesis, applying western postmodern- feminism as the theory background, and the social and history status of Chinese women as the culture background, tries to unveil the postmodernism spirit trend that demonstrated by Chinese feminine writing in 90s in the following four aspects: the establishment of female discourse power, the orectic writing,the breakdown of maternity mythology as well as the search for themainstream of Female flowing, and under the guidance of this spirit trend, the persistency and hard work Chinese female writers has put in reconstructing feminie "detailed history", fighting oppression of the masculine discourse power and actively expressing her creativity and vitality.The new century didn't bring a brighter future to Chinese feminine writings. The prosperity of 1990s has been decadent since early 21st century.The disregard of logic difference,the decline of essentialism and the deconstruction of deep mode greatly restrict the development of Chinese feminine writing. Reconsidering the problems occurring in Chinese feminine writing in the context of postmodernism,which will spread the bigger space for Chinese feminine writing and develop Chinese feminism.
