An Original Study On The Matter Of Version Of Music Score

Beginning with the basic concept and definition of version, bibliology and version of piano sonata literature, the subject will be collated to the category of bibliology. Taking the eight different versions of the first moment of Mozart's piano sonata K.457 as an example, the study compares among the basic features, the speed of the music composition, pitch, dynamics, legato, etc of the versions. By analyzing comparatively the different versions, the study sees clearly the reason for various differences existing among them and puts forward the advice for the use of versions of music score.The study suggests: The interpretation of a piece of music is closely related to the version of music score. Choosing reasonable versions is the foundation to interpret the music correctly and to improve the level of performing skill, as well as to make teaching and playing go fine. Therefore, it looks especially important to study and select the versions of music score in teaching and playing.
