The Effect Of Western Drama On Caoyu's Literary Creation

As what the old saying goes, " We can profit ourselves from something elsewhere " , and this can be proved by caoyu' s creative practice ,who is considered one of the greatest dramatists of 20th in China . This thesis tries to expound the successful experience of the western drama arts on caoyu' s novels. It mainly expounds from two aspects. The first is from the conflict of drama to analyse its effects on Family of the Doll and 'storms. The second point is from psychological aspect to analyse caoyu' s acceptance of Onil.The author also analyses the similarities of expressionism and symbolism from the two works. Through what the author states, I try to illustrate how caoyu assimilate many successful experience in his work to eventually form his own artistic style.
