SiMaXiangRu was a famous litterateur in Han dynasty. He was praised of "the king of CiFu" meanwhile was blamed for "immorality". This thesis follows the principle of "knowing a person with his times" and tries to analyse and evaluate the personalities of SiMaXiangRu, then finds out the writing characters from the development of social and history views. In order to make a fair judgement on his achievements of CiFu, we study the contents of mind and art characters according to the literal rules.This thesis studies SiMaXiangRu from his personality, works of contents and art characters, contribution to the production of CiFu in four parts .In the first part, the thesis dissertates his personality. Firstly, controverts some opinions on the basis of predecessors' inappropriate judgements on SiMaXiangRu's personality; Secondly, combines his entire life to reevaluate his personality and analyse the influence of his personality on writing characters .In the second part, according to what we have studied in the first one, we divide his works of CiFu into two periods on his changes of mind. In the former period, he had zest in politics and cared the country everywhere. His delegate works was HanDaFu which eulogized the wise king and great times. In the latter period, his CiFu were the subtle XiaoFu which were different from his early period. In the third part, studies the art achievements of his works including the beauty of vigour and the allegorical arts. In the last part, we conclude his contributions to literacy, firstly he developed the style of HanFu and made it mature, secondly he put forward the theory of "FuJi" and "FuXin", established the basis of HanFu theory and offered ways of invention HanFu to later generations.
