Abstract: It is a new realm to research the climatic change about our historical periods, especially to discuss the influence on social development. There are many studies in the recent years, however, the researchers focus on the time after Dong Han dynasty. There are fewer researches about the relations between the climatic change and the society vicissitudes before Qin dynasty because the historical materials of this period are less than others. With the researching of present literatures and the neoteric excavations of ancient writings, we can gain some valuable informations and study the problem conveniently.On the base of precursor's studying results, this thesis analyse amply the climatic transformation of the Yellow river and its influence on the social development and diversification at Xi Zhou dynasty. The paper is include three parts.The first part, the climatic environment transformation of the Yellow river from late Shang dynasty to Xi Zhou dynasty. From the neolithic age to late Shang dynasty, our country was immersed in the best comfortmable climate period which was named the new best warmth Paleozoic Era. The climate was warm and humid and the circumstance was very superior in the Yellow river drainage aera at this period. This comfortable climate was continue to Shang dynasty and became desiccant from late Shang dynasty(before 3100 years).With the climate becoming cold, the first Icy Period appeared after the early Zhou dynasty. From Zhou Li Wang era, the desiccation degree became gradully serious with the days on and on. The infrequent drought in the Yellow river drainage aera was not vanished until Zhou Ping Wang era after the perdition of Xi Zhou dynasty.The second part, the influence on the Xi Zhou social development because of the climatic transformation. The situation brought fatal and far-reaching influence on the development of Xi Zhou epoch such as politics, economics, culture and so on.Firstly, Zhou dynasty began to expanding their dominion toward south China especially to Han river and Huai river drainage area. Secondly, with intensifying intrusion from the north nomad kampong and more immigration of the Rong clans, the first national migration in the history appeared.
