| As one of the most important books of Confucianism, The Analects has been studied in the past and acquired huge achievement. In the past, the studies of most of the scholars were about the etiquette, but they pay attention to do textual research about institutions of ancient time. They neglected grasping the whole meaning. With the coming of 20th century, the studies about the history and civilization of etiquette acquired huge achievement. As a matter of fact, etiquette still has great sociological meaning. Etiquette essentially is a part and parcel of national management. It not only comprizes the category of institutions, but also rules virtue of people behavior. The etiquette regulates the order. So ruling a country with etiquette will bring about the order administration and harmony among people. The thesis will study the etiquette of Confucianism from sociological aspect, and show the important status of etiquette in Confucianism about management and expatiate its value in modern management.Etiquette proceeded from original sacrifice. In this sacrifical activity, it ruled order and regulation. Then it gradually extended, it became standard of daily living. It is an important factor to maintain order of original society and manage social production. Lastly, the etiquette became part of national system through three dynasties of Xia, Shang, and Zhou. Zhou Gong established the national system with its core etiquette and music, namely "the system of etiquette and music" .Confucius generated a suit of management of etiquette based on bypast study. Etiquette is pilot artifice of national management. It affects moral affection through educational way. Confucius emphasized the importance of status. Where there is upright, there is the foundation for establishing the reasonable social order. The function of etiquette is to establish the order of harmony.Etiquette is a humane management. It has different aspect from the west scientific management. It has huge value in modern times. We can modernize it. So it can effect the modern management. |
