Among those "Handicraft regulations and precedents"(jiangzuo zeli) in the Qing Dynasty, one of the very important zeli is Wuliao jiazhi zeli "prices of the building materials" which was written in Qianlong. Every province throughout the whole country was asked to collect local classical building materials' prices and report those prices to gongbu. Prices were put together into books and published. It was a early compilation concerning the regulations about prices of materials and wages.Wuliao jiazhi zeli, in 220 juan, recorded the prices paid by government and court authorities for building materials, wages and costs of transportation. It covered a wide range of goods and had plenty of data. It was a rich source for studies on products, history of prices and the economy status in the middle of the Qing period. This paper focuses on these data, and makes comparisons between the data. The research contains three parts. First of all, the even wages of 5 provinces are compared with the earnings of labor forces in agriculture in an ideal mode. The basic living-need wages are calculated and compared with handicraftsmen's wages. It is concluded that the wages were reasonably and economically set by Qing government. In the following research work, Gansu wuliao jiazhi zeli is focused on. In the second part, comparing the prices of woods and stones and the costs of their transpotation, it is found that in those area which had higher transportation costs, the prices of stones were higher. The conclusion about woods is that there were several transportation routes in Gansu. In the last part of this study, prices of tiles, limes, pigments, and miscellany materials in building are compared with wages among different counties in Gansu. There is a rule which fitted most of the data studied. Those areas, which had higher wages, had higher prices of materials.
