The Comparing Study Of Prepositions Used In Lunheng And Chinese Translated Buddhist Sutra In Eastern-Han Dynasty

The Eastern-Han Dynasty is the important transitional period in the history of Chinese language, which connected the ancient times and the middle ancient times. This dissertation mainly focuses on the prepositions used in Lunheng and Chinese translated Buddhist sutra in Eastern-Han Dynasty, and reveals the similarities and differences of these two language materials. While comparing the two kinds of language materials, we seek to investigate the diachronic changes as well as the synchronic changes, and pay attention to the quantitative analysis as well as the qualitative analysis. Except for it, we investigate the mechanism and pattern of the new prepositions in Eastern-Han Dynasty. At last, we seek to reveal the cause of the difference in using preposition in the two language materials.This dissertation draws the following conclusions: preposition and expressions used in the Chinese translated Buddhist sutra are newer than those in Lunheng, and they have much in common with the prepositions in the middle ancient times. In fact, the sources of many prepositions and expressions in the middle ancient times can be traced back to the Chinese translated Buddhist sutra.
