For him, traditional culture is an emotional and life home to return to. In order to grasp and evaluate his aesthetic thoughts deeply and comprehensively, it is ought to combine the particular culture context and his academic research motivation. Otherwise, it is impossible to understand why the Chinese ancient aesthetics can take on the unprecedented features in his academic prospect. Therefore, the aim of the thesis is to trace the track by which Zong baihua vitalizes the ancient culture resource and to find out the meaning and value of this kind of culture reconstruction.Under the background of new culture campaign, Zong baihua turns to traditional culture and dedicates himself to seek for a way to relieve the meaning crisis and rescue the civilians' spirit degradation. His academic means is expounding the Confucius' thoughts with life philosophy.The first chapter analyzes the reasons that he reconsiders the necessity of reviving national culture resource. The second chapter is divided into two sections. The first one puts emphasis on how he explores the Dong(motion) elements in major aspects of traditional culture, especially in Confucius philosophy ZhouYi, the study of Goethe and Confucius and Chinese ancient art theory. The second one shows the way he reconstructs the traditionalculture value belief, namely, he fuses Chinese thoughts into aestheticism. The third chapter expounds his unique and overwhelming status in the process of forming Chinese modern aestheticism. Last but not the least, this chapter elaborates the differences between Chinese modern aestheticism and western aestheticism. |
