The Research On The Criteria To Literary Critisizm Of Liang Shi-qiu

Mr.Liang Shi-qiu was one of the rare literature critics in the history of Chinesecontemporary literature ,who had his own relatively independent and systematic literatureviewpoint .He amalgamated culture spirits and thinking resources from the orient and theoccident, built up his own classic culture viewpoint . He considered that the literaturecomments should had their criterion .That criterion was the "humanity". The criterion of"humanity"has contained five aspects mainly . First, literature would transcend sensation anddesire appealing to reason. Second, it would transcend the stability of the era. Third , itwould transcend popular diversity in individuality. Fourth , it would transcend class character.Fifth, it would transcend aesthetics appealing to ethic. It was obvious that Liang's "humanity"was a concept that apart from concrete content and realism. This criterion was classicismthat emphasized mediocrity and moderation, which was different from romanticism andneoclassicism. Those had resulted in that Liang's holistic comment on the culture in the timesof may fourth movement was denied and animadverted. Liang`s comment criterion wassuspect both in the theory and practice. But his criterion should be appraised in these aspectsof definition and define boundary and search in criticism.
