Tang Dynasty, especially after Mid-Tang , was the golden time aboundant in the records of events inscribed on tablets ' writing. As the direct object in research of Mid-Tang prose, the records of events inscribed on tablets offer the basic documents for us to learn the applying articles, Moreover, regarded as the firsthand materials in record of the tomb owner, the records of events inscribed on tablets also supply aboundant historical data for us to study the social customs, culture . So it is of great significance to study the literature and history of Tang Dynasty by means of investigating the records of events inscribed on tablets in Mid-Tang.In view of this, this paper writing mainly in light of the two kinds of inscription on stone tablets and epitaphs, combining the documents handed down from ancient times and unearthened, has studied and analized the literary form of records of events inscribed on tablets in Mid-Tang. In addition, on the base of the senior scholars' research , it investigated several socialissues of that time .The full paper divides into three parts:In the first part, systematic analysis was made upon the litrary form, specifically, upon the title, the main body and the inscription words. In the aspect of the titles, the author has, in detail ,discussed the titles of new or old type ,the title of women tombs, Buddhists and Taoists tombs , and the title of people buried in thesame grave; In the aspect of the main body, this paper discussed its characteristics in terms of the unparallelist and unrhythmical languge, diverse expressive style and the structural arrangement. In the aspect of the inscription words, the paper explored the form and content.In the second part, the author putted the records of events inscribed on tablets into the background of Biography in Mid-Tang to find out the reasons of its prosperity , its relation with Biography and so on.The third part, dealed with the situations of the Buddhist nun and the education in Mid-Tang through analyzing relevant information in the records of events inscribed on tablets.Through the discussion of the problems above, the author is in an attempt to obtain deeper and fuller understanding of the style of the records of events inscribed on tablets, and reveal some social issues neglected by the orxodox history for insider's reference and promote the study of the records of events inscribed on tablets and culture in Tang Dynasty.
