| The research of dialect vocabulary is an important component of the dialectology as well as of the lexics. Though Wu dialect is a hot research subject, little attention is paid to the dialect of Changshu which is a county of Wu area. It is significative to do more research on this dialect with the situation that mandarin is getting more and more popular and is swallowing up the area of dialects.In this paper, the author recorded the featured vocabularies of Changshu(Dayi) dialect in great detail from the view of the lexics. The affixes of the Changshu(Dayi) dialect are investigated as well as overlapped nouns, fixed structures and approximate number words, etc. Also vocabularies of the dialect are compared with that of the mandarin to get the difference of some basic lexics aspects. The reader would get a general knowledge of the features of Changshu(Dayi) dialect after reading this paper. |
