As we all know that, Greek mythology is one of the two resources of westernliterature as well as western thoughts. Meanwhile, among all Greek gods, Apollo hasexerted the most profound influence on western literature and thoughts. Apollo isimpressed us as a god of light, of the handsome of man. Apart from this, Apollo isalso a symbol of music and poems. Therefore, Apollo becomes the most widelyworshiped god in ancient Greek world. In this treatise I mainly focus on analyzing the evolvement of Apollo in earlyGreek mythology, lyric poems and prose, and try my best to find out what's the reallyorigin of the God Apollo in Greek mythology .To achieve this, I have referred tomany Classical works of ancient Greek Literature, together with the best Chinesetranslation edition. Afterwards, I will spare no efforts to tell the difference betweenDeity Apollo and other sun gods. Furthermore, I will do as possible as I can to givethe opinion of German philosopher Nietzsche's taking a sharp differentiation betweenApollonian and Dionysian a new look. After a careful analysis, we come to a conclusion that , as far as the God Apolloof Greek mythology is concerned, he had received a variety of influence of multiplecivilization, and especially the influence of East (such as Asia Minor ).What's more, the change of Apollo's image in early Greek Literature is just like what happens to hisspirit. Apart from this, Apollo sees the whole progress of how ancient Greeks know ofthe nature around them, of the society, and of themselves. When we are faced withsuch a complicated god, we do keep in our mind that he is quite different from theSun god Helios of Greeks, and of other sun gods of Eastern countries. Never shouldwe take the reason spirit as the only feature of Apollo. On the contrary, we ought toview him as a symbol of constant consummating Greek spirit which is full ofreasonable consideration as well as toughness and young blood.
