Goethe is one of the most important writers in the west as well as in the world. The source of Goethe's idea can never be separated from the Greece spirit, which on the one hand, is the worship for liberalism of Dionysus, on the other hand, is the longing for tranquility and peace of Apollo, and also includes the respect for and observance of rationalism and logos. Goethe's works is imbued with the tragic spirit of Dionysus Carnival, but most importantly is his pursuit of the solumn and quiet Apollo spirit, rationalism and logos. These spirits are not only reflected fully in his works, but also embodied in his distinct artistic idea, resulting in his distinct idea of the relation between Classicism and Romanticism as well as that between "the World Literature" and Hellenism.By these researches I will have a conclude: If there is not the Greece spirits, there will not be a great author-Goethe.
