Dong minority chorus is a non-accompany, multi-sound chorus folk art, which is wide spread in Southern Dong minority. As a folk music, Dong minority chorus'origin and growth has a close connection with Dong minority's culture, history and geographical environment. Dong minority, a branch of china's ancient Baiyue tribe, develops gradually by absorbing immigrants from outside world besides native people's growing generation after generation. Thanks to its specific geographical environment and its close relationship with water in its daily life. Dong minority gives birth to its unique chorus which has the characteristics of water: sweet, agreeable, fine, smooth, harmonious, and clear.Sound chorus which bears the richest musical charaters and most artistic values, is a representative genre of Dong minority chorus. Dong minority live in the generous nature, whose various sounds have animmediate influence on the origin of sound chorus, Naturalization is Dong sound chorus'Dorn charater. Its form and development went through a process from naturalization to creativity. Without human's creativity, no sound can become music. Sound chorus is such a creative music produced in the course of Dong minority's mental activities. Sound chorus'creating approaches can be concluded as two aspects: to simply imitate nature sounds and to compose the forms of sound movements regularly and purposely.The beauty of sound chorus lies in its elegant and natural rhythm. It imitates the nature sounds in a multi-sound form. Its melody, Rhythm, style and harmony, which are closely related to its sound effect, all contribute to its impressive beauty.Onomatopoeia is the highlight of sound chorus. To some extent, Dong minority sound chorus form a specific system of its own. The two words"natural"and"harmonious"can best describe its beauty. It not only embodys Dong minority's appreciation for the harmonious beauty among people, but also between human and nature.
