Wenshui dialect is an embranchment of the Jin dialects as a whole, which consists of 19 vowels, 42 consonants and 5 kinds of pitches. This thesis attempts to analyze some specific grammatical phenomena in Wenshui dialect, which includes such linguistic forms as word overlapping, affixation and aspect, in a more comprehensive and systematic way.The strategy of gemination, which is characterized by its varied forms and its expressive capability, gains extensive and constant application in Wenshui dialect. This dialect comprises not only such linguistic features as the nominal overlapping, verbal overlapping, adjectival overlapping, etc, with a similarly frequent occurrence in the Mandarin but also the quantifier overlapping and pronominal overlapping with a comparatively rare occurrence in the Mandarin. Wenshui dialect can not only be used to construct words but also to construct forms or change the morphology.Affixation is a mode which help actively construct words and forms, with the most common suffixes as "子" , "儿" , "圪", "忽" as well as "日","鬼", which are in the process of weakening but which has not yet been entirely weakened.Wenshui dialect has eight types of aspects, including general aspect> inchoative aspect , continuous aspect , durative aspect , perfect aspect, experienced aspect , unstressed aspect and uncermonious aspect. The configuration is represented by adding suffixes and adjectives, or by overlapping. Compared with the Mandarin, Wenshui dialect is possessed with a richer aspectual system and is characterized by the specific features belonging to a dialect.
