The Syntactic Expression And Application To Chinese Category Of Starting-Point Location

In this thesis, we make a systematic discussion on the syntactic expression of category of starting-point location of Modern-Chinese, which including a few aspects as following: syntactic feature, semantic feature and the comparison and alternation of some relative sentence patterns. Based on this, we make a further discussion on how to apply our investigation to applied fields such as teaching Chinese as the second language.To begin with the definition of the frame of displacement incident, we determine what we study is the category of starting-point location in the frame of displacement incident. At first, we find out the feature of verb, starting-point location, preposition, the object of displacement in the sentences of displacement. Then according to the theory of prototype category, we divide the category sentences of starting-point location into two kinds: model members and non-model members. It excludes those sentences which aren't in the scope of this thesis. Moreover we divide the category sentences of starting-point location into two kinds: marked and non-marked in order to make the study easier. In the sentences of marked category of starting-point location, there are four different kinds of sentence patterns:"Cong sentence","You sentence","Da sentence","Zi sentence". These four sentence--patterns have many common characters and the"Cong sentence"is applied popularly, so we analyze it emphatically. The analysis includes the constitution of the category of starting-point location, the kinds of verbs, the object of displacement, the space relation of starting-point location and other words and expressions in the sentences. According to the semantic classification of the verbs, we conclude three kinds of situation to describe the space relation and analyze the vague relation.
