The popular song is one of the most important cultural phenomenons of mass taste nowadays, and it is also a window way which keeps a view very much for us to know a society and look into the social mentality. The pop song research is a wide academic realm, while the research on the cultural value of the pop song in Hongkong and Taiwan's academia has already got into a more embedded and systemic phases, the research of it in Chinese Mainland' academia is relatively weak. The grow up of the pop song in Chinese Mainland is in 80's, and its developing process can be deviede into two phases. First, 80's is the phase for the pop song to grow up and get a primary development, and it also can be devided by the year 1985-1986 when the pop song really growing up, which shows the maze of mass when facing the social change and culture rupture. Second, 90's is the phase for the pop song to develop numerously, and it also can be devided by the year 1997 when Hongkong got back to China, which shows the complicated mentation of Chinese people when facing the modernization of the society in the period of social change. The pop song is the psychological consolation for the Chinese in the period of social change, and it is also an aesthetic Eutopia needed by the mass in the consumptive age. There are various value and meanings to survey the developing process of the pop song on Mainland China, and especially grop for the artistic change of the lyric of pop song in our country and the change of mass aesthetic taste and social mentality.
