This thesis introduced the principle of valence grammar into studying the V+result ba sentence in Mandarin Chinese and reorder this kind of ba sentence through a synthetical study. In the thesis, 1696 ba sentences had been collected for statistical analysis which provided the foundation of regarding the VR-ba sentence as the model of ba sentence. The author proposed her own opinion on the question of valent center of ba sentence which was disputed greatly among linguists. She suggested regarding the VR phrase as the center, and according to which the ba sentence can be devided into four classifications, they're one argument ba sentence, two arguments ba sentence, three arguments ba sentence and the predicate verb directed ba sentence, each classification have been described detailed from syntactic and semantic aspect. As regard the question of the calculation of valence, the author integrated several opinions and suggested the formula VR={a1}∪{a2,p,s}-Z/T is effective. At the same time, the author supplemented that the promotion of each argument of V and R should be considered but not just some of them. At the end of the thesis, the author constructed a classification system according to the grammar and semantic characteristics of the VR ba sentence and made further application in V得ba sentence. Because the thesis mainly studies the VR ba with valence, the valence spirit is carried out from beginning to the end. Although it may seem different from the"Verb-center"of Tesniere, the core of valence grammar DEPENDENCE is in accordance.
