From Classicalism To Modernism

content: people were concentrating on applying anatomy , perspective and the theory of light on copying the objects since renaissance, they express their feeling reasonable ,the rule of appreciation also had been formed .with the development of technology of photography, a mount of new style and idea emerged ,such as beastlism, cubilism and expressionism ,people always feel very puzzled when they appreciate the modern abstract painting; their analysis of the works is very limited and superficial, which is to find the objects that correspond to the reality. This kind of view of reality blocks the development of modern art.Painting experienced a complex process from imitating objects of nature to expressing personal emotion. Especially after the impressionism, different style and idea emerged ,but people's habit and rule of appreciation didn't follow the trend of thought. Lacking the relationship to history they take a one-side view on analyzing paints. This thesis aim at expounding the reason and process of transformation from representationalism to abstractlism of western painting from the perspective of history of painting and aesthetics, i.e the exterior and inner reason of the development of view of reality, which try to pave the way for the understanding of modern painting.
