On The Essences Of Long And Short Vowels Of Zhuang Language And Yue Dialect Opposite Based On Experiments

Based on the opposite phenomenon between long and short vowels in the Zhuang language (壮语) and Yue dialect (粤语)specially the long and short vowel [a], this articl discusses the duration and quality function and station in distinguishing the long and short vowels through the acoustic and listening experiments,the purpose of which is to make the essences of long and short vowel opposites to be clear.Firstly, the article analyses the long and short vowel system of Zhuang language and Yue dialect with the phonology and phonetics method. Then from the sound database chooses the monosyllables, of which the initial, core and tone are same but the long and short vowels [a] are opposite, this articl compares the formant models in the Zhuang language and Yue dialect eachly, then analyses the duration and quality function and station during distinguishing the long and short vowels [a]. Secondly, the article analyses the samenesses and differences of the duration and quality during distinguishing the long and short vowels [a], according to the compare of the formant model between the Zhuang language and Yue dialect.
