| The thesis on Couple Literati in Late Ming and May Fourth is aimed at finding out the connection between the evolved social gender notion and Couple Literati phenomena, the impact of changeable social gender notion on marriage life and affection of women writer in Late Ming and May Fourth respectively. The conclusion is based on evaluation of literary value resulted from Couple Literati phenomena and analysis of causes resulted in Couple Literati phenomena in Late Ming and May Fourth.The thesis is divided into six chapters: preface; chapter 1 Ideal Marriage Foregoers: Couple Literati before Late Ming; chapter 2 Reality and Ideality: Couple Literati in Late Ming; chapter 3 The Discussion about Marriage and Affection among Intellectuals in May Fourth: chapter 4 Couple Writers in the Literary World in May Fourth; Conclusion.The mainstay of the study material are as follow: Sima Xiangru and Zhuo Wenjun, Qin Jia and Xu Shu, Zhao Mingcheng and Li Qingzhao before Late Ming; Wu Ren and his three wives, Ye Shaoyuan and Shen Yixiu, Qi Biaojia and Shang Jinglan, Wu Zhensheng and Cheng Qiong, Huang Yuanjie, Wang Duanshu and her husbands in Late Ming; Lu Xun and Xu Guangping, Xiao Hong and Xiao Jun and Duanmu Hongliang, Ding Ling and Hu Yepin and Feng Xuefeng, Yu Dafu and Wang Yingxia, Xu Zhimo and Lu Xiaoman in May Fourth. In addition, some other Couple Literati in Chinese history are mentioned in the thesis to help support the viewpoints. |
