Today, cultural industry has become U.S.'s most dynamic and economically -rewarding industry, which enjoys global dominance as well as promoting the U.S. cultural expansion. This thesis aims to provide a relatively comprehensive and systematic analysis on the world domination of U.S. cultural industry, so as to bring inspirations for the development of Chinese cultural industry.This thesis falls into four parts. The first part is the introduction, which gives a description of the framework of the whole exploration and clarifies the subjects it is going to deal with (the world domination of U.S. cultural industry), research background, the definition of the cultural industry and the academic value of this thesis. The second part renders a brief view of the current situation of U.S. cultural industry, its economic significance to U.S. economy and its negative impact on the rest of the world. In the third part, a comparatively comprehensive and systematic study is made on the various factors contributive to the world domination of U.S. cultural industry and U.S. cultural expansion: technical revolution, economic system, social conditions, government support, U.S. values and ideology, all of which have been playing important parts. The fourth part is the conclusion, which winds up the whole study by summarizing the main subjects in this paper.
