| ZhaoMengfu is one of the most outstanding talents that are rarely seen in the history of Chinese Calligraphy. His works exert great influence over the later generations and arouse much attention. Since 1930s, a lot of works and articles about Zhaomengfu have been composed. Taking various means, the home and oversea scholars with different points of view made a necessary and wide research about his life,the origin,styles,status,meaning,appraisal as well as the influence of his calligraphy. Their research achieved a staged success. However, the success does not mean that the research about ZhaoMengfu and his works is already perfect. Except the disagreement caused by different historical data, there is still too much left for us to work over. In my thesis, I first summarize the present research trying to find out the problems in it and then give a statement about how I solve the problems and make a supplement to the current study. The whole thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter one is Problems of Life Research. Firstly, make a sum-up to the historical materials about Zhao Mentfu's life and point out the mistakes due to the insufficient textual research. Secondly, list the disagreements caused by the consultation of different historical data such as which year Zhao Mengfu and Guan Daosheng got married and when he was born, then line up all of the point of view and put forward my own one. Chapter two is Problems of Calligraphy. Firstly, sum up the research past and present about Zhao Mengfu'Calligraphy and specify the gain and loss. Secondly, aiming at the problems in the present research, make a systematic study about the origin and artistic styles of Zhao Mengfu'ZhuanShu, KaiShu, XingShu and make a supplement which contains some new touch beside my own demonstration.Chapter three is Problems of learning and Thought Research. Aiming at the deficiency and disagreement of the research in this respect, respectively study"Yong bi qian gu bu yi"and the origin of Zhao Mengfu'thought and get the result that"Yong bi"has different meanings and it is not the kernel of Zhao Mengfu'theory but the reflection of his thought"returning to the ancients". Besides, his thought to much extent is based on the theory of his predecessors among which Jiangkui influenced most.Chapter four is Problems of Appraisal and Text Research. Firstly, summarize the research methods and the relative success. Secondly, make a supplement to the present research concerning the works in dispute,the appraisal of the uninvolved works and its year of being composed. This supplement specify the exact year of Zhao Mengfu'four letters written to GuXinfu and indicate his Xiao Kai'Han Wen San Shu'and'Que Hua Qiu Se Tu"are fake works.Chapter five is The Suplly of Zhao Mengfu Xi Nian. Referring to the historical materials that we have kept now, painting and calligraphy, works as well as the results of our predecessors, try to find way to solved the problems existed in'Zhao Mengfu Xi Nian'composed by Ren Daobin.Besides, in order to make a preparation for the further research, I attach a appendix to my thesis in which you could see the basic info about Zhao Mengfu'works and his research results that have been recorded now. |
