It is known that appearance of any form of art depends on its certain social background and development of technology. With the computer's popularity, digital images have become so accessible that any one can get it from any computer at any time. Applied digital techniques have penetrated into every aspect in graphic design. This paper is arguing about the disadvantages of computers'use in modern graphic design, emphasizing the importance of appropriate use of design software in current graphic design. It points out that various kinds of software are meaningless computer programs and can't produce any great works without designers'art attainment and creative enthusiasm. Even in such a hi-tech society, hand-drawn drafts is also an essential skill for designers. This article will take PHOTOSHOP as an example and choose worldwide typical works, illustrating the construct of the new form languages in modern graphic design. By exploring the design software's features in modern design, the author points it out that designing graphic works through computers is not only a modern technique, but also should show its true connotation of a new art form as well as its unique visual language and expressive methods.
