Study On The Gheribi's Dastan

In Uyghur modern language, the term "Dastan" mean "narrativeverse". In fact, it can be divided into two types: oral Dastan and written Dastan. This dissertation is about Uyghur Dastan in written literature. Gheribi ,one of the classic Uyghur poet in 19th century , the full name is Turdi Nazim Gheribi (1802—1862). Based on studies fruition of many predecessor, the author attemped to take Gheribi and his Dastan creation for example, studies the characteristics of Uyghur literary Dastan. At a multiple angle for instance, rhetoric, narratology and literariness, there is a general analysis to Gheribi Dastan' s character. The author systematically studies the theme, subject matter, images of Gheribi ' s Dastan. The author also demon strated the correlation and interation between the Uyghur oral literature and Uyghur written literature.The dissertation included three part s: introduction, main body and conclusion. Within the introduction part, the author discuss the conception of Dastan, Gheribi' s academic research history, the aim of the study and so on. The main body of the dissertation consists of four chapters . In these chapters , the author give a servey to Gheribi' s life story and historical background of his creation summarized the Gheribi Dastan' s creation , such as representative work, main characteristics of Gheribi' s Dastan . Further more, the author studies the text from thematic way. For example , Dastan' s theme and character .Whithin the part of conclusion to each chapter of the main body and arised his own notion about the future of Uyghur Dastan.A very important phenomenon of Uyghur literature , is that Dastan comes from oral tradition at first and again back to it from written literature . Through out a genera 1 analysis to Gheribi' s Dastan, we can have a clear understanding to the characteristic of Uyghur literature. It will provide a new visual field to teaching and researching to the conterporary literature.
