This paper detailedly records the phonetic characteristics of Jixian dialect, and the phonetic states of other districts are recorded concurrently, including Pinggu,Xinglong,Zunhua,Yutian,Langfang. The synchronic description is made first. According to the different phonetic characteristics, with the relevant linguistic methods, the tentative explanations are given to the phonetic deviation in Jixian dialect to reveal it's diachronic evolution. There are six parts in all. Chapter 1 gives an introduction to the situation of Jixian, and the formation of it's dialect. The methodology and the source of the material in this paper are also introduced in this part. In chapter 2, the description of the phonology of Jixian dialect is made first. And then the phonetic characteristics are induced. A deep-going discussion about the type of Jixian dialect is made in the chapter 3. Chapter 4 is several problems about the initial consonant in Jixian dialect. With the help of historical materials, the methodology of stratigraph analysis and the theory of the polyphonetic phenomena between the literary and the oral reading are used here. In chapter 5, in comparison with the dialects of other peripheral districts, some problems of the vowels in Jixian dialect are discussed with the theory of the lexical diffusion. The last part of this paper is about some phenomena on the literal and the oral reading. Meanwhile the polyphonetic characters in Jixian dialect are discussed.
