Repeating certain painting pattern lots of times and keepingto some painting style have made many artists get into puzzleDom, and greatly limited the development of watercolor artisticcreation. Currently, the most questions for discussion is tosearch how to break through the confine exerted on artists bythemselves. According to actual situation, this paper pays muchattention to investigate, which ways and which means the artistscould use to achieve the progress of watercolor. This paper mighthelp to extend thinking and provide theory guidance for correctpractice.Firstly, based on the artists' psychological need andexisting state of contemporary art, this paper, from internalcause and external cause two facets that induce art creation, demonstrated the inevitability of artists searching innovationand change in watercolor creation.Focusing on the watercolor art creation ways and creationawareness, a lot of cases were picked out, and the knowledge fromdifferent disciplines, like psychology, Aesthetics, Chinese andforeign fine arts history, etc, were combined. The core contentof this dissertation mainly analyzed and summarized specificways for art creation, gave concrete contents for artists'creation awareness, revealed the variety of creation ways andthe guiding effect of creation awareness, and pointed out thatstudying from nature was very important. The results showed thatonly when artists insisted on keep the creation awareness andfollowed valid extension ways and regarded them as long-termtarget, they could extend the watercolor creation and enrichwatercolor expressing tips, and finally the art of water colorcan be developed increasingly.In the last parts of this dissertation, some conservativeteaching methods and old ideas that found in present watercolorinstruction were pointed out, and naturally the results obtainedfrom above chapters were used as the discussion of instructionimprovement measures. That may provide guidance and referenceeffect for watercolor artists who are great in imagination.
