This dissertation is a tentative study of literary translation from the perspective of the subjectivity of translators.With the development of translation study, translators can add some personal ideas on the base of keeping original styles in order to get readers'better acceptance and get recognition.The dissertation aims to probe into the importance of the subjectivity of translators in cultural construction. The discussion of this subjectivity of translators is combined with the cultural facsimile in order to testify the degree of translation facsimile in the cross-cultural translation and the extent of the subjectivity of translators. Translators'times, cultural backgrounds including their traditional culture, the gift of tongues, aesthetic tastes, interests and grasp of the original work, etc. are all factors influencing the subjectivity of translators. This dissertation will do a literature review of the subjectivity of translators and clarify the definition of cultural facsimile adopted, and expound on the relationship between the subjectivity of translators and cultural facsimile. Then it will observe misunderstanding and mistranslation in translated works from the perspective of the cultural facsimile. In addition, it will observe major categories of culture and examine how these elements help breed the subjectivity of translators that affects the translators'decoding and translating of the original message. Finally the author attempts to make a tentative study on literary translation from the perspective of the subjectivity, to study whether the translators have fully considered cultural differences between the source and target culture and rendered them adequately in the target text for target readers to understand properly. Thereupon, conclusions are drawn that the subjectivity of translators should receive due attention from translators, and the cultural facsimile should be carefully considered and handled according to specific contexts.
