Shi Shuo Xin Yu was the famous model work of "the novels of recording persons" in our country ancient time. It vividly recorded intelligentsia's words and deeds during Wei Jin time, and obtained the highly artistic achievement, and had the profound influence to the later generations.After Wei Jin time, each dynasty had the similar works which were compiled according to Shi Shuo's style and method. These "Shi Shuo" type novels were produced in the different times, and reflected the different character stories and even the social styles, they also had the varying degree change and development in the method and the theme content, so these works had their respective characteristics and values. The "Shi Shuo" type novels in the Qing Dynasty continued to be developed and changed in the foundation of the front "Shi Shuo" type novels. Firstly, The novel's theme was expanded further. The novels which specially were compiled with the feminine theme and the content of some place's character had appeared, and the novels recording some kind of personality also had appeared. Secondly, the novel's style had enormously changed. The style had more changes in the old style's foundation of "Shi Shuo Xin Yu". Thirdly, the manifestation had its own characteristics. The writers pursued succinct and elegant language and used the note form, simultaneously used the detail description which was profited from the legend's and the vernacular novel's expression means. The novel's length increased, and the story means strengthened. Some writers portrayed the character images accurately, vividly and expressivly.
