This paper carried on a system research about'que'based on a great deal of language material, descibed the development in detail and discussed the reason about the evolvement primarily in order to contribute to the large dictionary compile and Chinese language history research.From the existing studies, we conclude that the studies about'que'covered various aspects and these studies provided great quantities worthy reference data for writing. Totally, the existing studies mainly investigated the auxiliary word and the adverbial word of'que'. The the existing studies showed that the learners studied some aspects about'que'which included of the use of the auxiliary word or the adverbial word or connecting word. In addition, the studies ranged some period or some book. All of them couldn't describe the development and study in whole.This text anticipated aspect in the language, chose in the meantime data and perhaps near a simultaneous data to make our researches result can believe. Certainly, in the language choose by anticipate,we couldn't avoid using language material in the latter time.The question appears all over the studies of Chinese language history,this paper is also unavoidable.The research indicated:'que'was only used as verb during Qin period and the most basic meaning was'back'or'make……back'. From'back'to'decline,refuse','que'was used independently or linked up with other verb during this period .'Que'was still used as'back','make……back'and'decline, refuse'during Han period. But there were some changes. Firstly, the number of the verb linked up with'que'increased and the format was'que+verb'or'verb+que+object'from which we could conclude that the ability of'que'enhanced than before. Secondly, it ran to'lustrate, eliminate, withstand'.'Que'was mostly used as'back','make……back'. It was also used as'go','decline, refuse'and'lustrate, eliminate, withstand'. During WeiJin period'que'was still used as verb, it used as'back','make……back','decline, refuse','lustrate, eliminate, withstand'.At the same time, there came new means which was'later'. The meaning of'go'in Han Dynasty ran to the meaning of'up'at this time and the verb linked up with'que'increased more. The uses of'que'as'make……back','decline, refuse'and'lustrate, eliminate, withstand'couldn't found in the language anticipate of TangWudai Period. At this time'que'was only used as verb with the meaning of'back'. In TangWudai period there were two obvious changes. First,'up'ran to'finish'. Second,'instead','again'appeared.
