In view of this, this article try to research his history thought on several main questions, including historical material viewpoint, the history function viewpoint, the historian accomplishment viewpoint, historical literature style viewpoint, etc. I hope to do little work on research of Lv-Simian throw this article.Lv Si-mian attached importance to historical materials, his ideas about historical materials scope, category, value, searching, examination, and using principles or the methods, has characteristics. He thought historical materials scope very broad. Lu Si-mian divided historical materials into nine kinds. Lu Si-mian specially regarded historical materials collection and textual research important. He emphasized the methods of collection. He hought needs to collect historical materials according to the certain topic. He specially summarized the method to distinguish the false textual and research. For each kind of historical material value, Lu Si-mian also has his own analysis and the judgement. Generally believed that, history has the function of knowing, caution, applications, civilizations. Lu Si-mian basically approves these functions, moreover had his own understanding. Historical knowing function is no doubt. He didn't always believe ancient history, nor did he always doubt ancient history, Lu Si-mian had his own independent view about the realistic benefit of history, Lu Si-mian's core idea on historian's tutelage is reality pursues.
