The Comparative Research Of The Keyboard Harmony Teaching Materials

For a long time, the harmony teaching in the conservatories of our country has experienced a theory-studying way, losing contact with the practices. It emphasizes the "pure-theory" teaching without resolving the practical problems in the harmony teaching. Especially the research on the keyboard harmony is almost in a blank state, making the harmony as the symbol of "silence". The students spent a lot of time on studying this subject, but cannot grasp it and cannot run it well in the music practices. For these reasons, it is necessary for us to reform the harmony teaching, from the set up of the lessons to the cultivation of the teachers, from the build up of the teaching materials to the principles of the teaching, to build up a totally-new system.The motive of this article is to study and compare four published foreign teaching material on the keyboard harmony:《Keyboard Harmony》,《The Course of Keyboard Harmony—The Harmony System in the Classical Music》,《The Course of Piano Harmony》,《The course of keyboard improvisation》, leading to the research on their teaching principles,teaching methods,overall arrangement of the teaching,teaching characteristics, etc., summarizing the contents that we can use for reference based on the reality of our country in order to push the compilation of the relative teaching materials in our country.The basic point of view of this article is: the keyboard harmony teaching is essential for the build up of multi-voice departments harmony thought. The basic principle of the teaching is that the teaching of the harmony should pay more attention to the cultivation of the sensibility of the harmony sound, emphasizing the training of listening,the training of the shift of tone,the training of the capacity of improvisation, as the result, the students should have the capacity of the music thought of multi-voice departments。If we can really load the keyboard harmony in our harmony teaching, we can surely improve the music education and the capacity of the music practices of the students of our country.
