On The Teaching And Appliance Of Computer Music

Computer-aided music (computer music for short), one music form initiating from 1980s, is the product of music combing with computer, modern electronic technology and electronic-audio processing equipment. Its appearance greatly changed the traditional method and procedure in the music field and challenged the original music making, music composing technique and those aspects of music teaching method. All these parts make us feel its real strong force coming from science and technology.What kind of situation is for the development of Chinese computer music teaching? What kind of issues are there in the music teaching process? How to improve the current teaching model of computer music teaching? How to master the appliance of computer music in a better way? All these aspects will get discussed in the thesis.The whole body of the thesis is composed of four parts. The first part is the generalization of computer music. We firstly introduced its concept and developing situation of computer music. And then we made a detailed description about its basic technique principle——sound synthesis to computer music. We also made a simple summary and explanation to the developing situation of computer music teaching in China. The second part is on the issues of computer music teaching. Starting from the present situation of curriculum setting for computer music, in terms of the description of basic principles and applying cases of hardware equipment, the thesis exemplified the software and hardware operation version of MIDI spell sequence as well as that of digital audio software and hardware. And also we made exhibition of operating current software sound origin samplers. The third part firstly explained the appliance of computer music in the field of music composition. And then we gave an exemplification of applying computer music in the composition technique course by way of specific cases, which exhibiting the thoughts in the field of sight singing and ear training, harmony polyphony and orchestration. The forth part is on the current situation and its development of MIDI, updating of computer implements and that of selecting the superior quality hardware. We also talked about the requirement of teaching faculty training, developing of related software and the suggestion of subject construction.
