Study On Durable Development Of Ancient Urban Structure In Kaifeng

Urban formation, as a reflection of urban life and interpretation of its history, almost includes all aspects of human civilizations. As a continuity of historical development, the evolution of urban formation always develops on the basis of its former style and, therefore, it can not separate itself from the city's history and status quo and must seek the clues of further development in the context of history.Kaifeng city, known as one of the"Seven ancient capital", is famous for its rich historical and cultural heritage, and is listed as one of the first state-level historical and cultural cities by the State Council. Today, under the impetus of the economical development, China has entered a new era of accelerated urbanization process. In this view, even people in various social circles have gradually come to realize the importance of "the comprehensive protection of the ancient city's characters", the outlook of the city is changing without man's will. So how to better conserve the character of the ancient city and fulfill its durable development is the top priority for Kaifeng. This paper seeks to find out the inherent changing laws of Kaifeng city by analyzing the evolutionary process of its urban formation, and enable the scene of the ancient capital develop in an organic way.This article consists of five chapters. The first chapter analyses the evolutionary process and phase of the ancient city of Kaifeng; Chapter II looks upon the research and construction of the city's modern vitality, and by integrating and sublating the existing urban texture, wishes to renew the outlook of ancient city and inspire its vitality; The third chapter, in a view of city planning, discusses the durable protection of the spatial formation of certain area in ancient city of Kaifeng, and by taking Longting District as an example, tries to find out an innovative way to make durable development that is suitable for the historical areas in the ancient city of Kaifeng; Chapter IV, from a macro point of view, explores the durable development and protection of the overall character of the ancient city in new century, and seeks the developing strategies for building a world-class historical and cultural city; and the last Chapter, Chapter V, makes a conclusion and summarizes its enlightenment to the contemporary social, and also prospects for the further study.
