The research on the early marine culture before the Tang dynasty in the southern coastal region of China is always a weak link. According to archaeological materials, I used the analytical method of archaeological cultural factors to analyse the influence of the "South China Sea"'s marine cultural factors on the early culture in the southern coastal region, which was based on the formers' achievemrents in the research. In the first chapter I described the scope of the "South China Sea'"s area and its inner cultural factors. And then I explained its relation to "the cultural circle of the Asian Mediterranean Sea ". Following this I reviewed the research. At last I introduced my idea and the theme of the paper.During the second to the fifth chapters I analysed the factors from "South China Sea" first of all, which were embodied by the material remains. Consequently I selected some material categories, such as the glass, the silver and gold artefacts, the silver cions, the religious remains, the foreigner figurines and so on. And then I used the related archaeological materials to analyse all the categories' sources and their development. Finally I tried to find out the effect on the society, the economy and the culture of the southern coastal region. In the last chapter I summed up the main points of the paper above all. After that, combining the archaeological materials and the historial materials, I attempted to restore the circumstances of the early cultural exchange between the southern coastal region of China and "South China Sea".
