Korean plays have already been popular in China for about 10 years. At the same time ,it promotes the popularity of the Korean culture. People often divide Korean plays into 3 types: family ethic plays, youth idol plays and history plays. The reason why Korean plays are so popular is that China and Korea have much in common, such as the same background of Confucianism culture, the excellent manufacture of plays and so on.When studying Korean plays ,this paper will introduce the theory of Richard Blame. This paper is based on different plots of Korean plays. It divides the plays into 4 types: romance and love, community and familiy, returning ,success and progress. In the 2nd part of my paper, I analyzed the purpose of the creators of Korean plays under the background of the society using the theories said of Henri Lefebvre. And I found the purpose has the same feature as that in our daily life, such as monotonous, repetition and laziness. Of course, benefit is the most important motive, and entertainmant is the first motive of watching TV. And all the goals are realized by ads.The 3rd part is about the satisfaction of the audience. Its daily desire, long-lost female preference and requirements for entertainment is satisfied. That's the reason why the interest for Korean plays always remainsIn the 4th part, I take 2 famous plays as my examples. They are "FULL HOUSE" and "DAE JANG GEUM". In the analyzing process, I compared these 2 plays with some other plays in the same category and then analyze their characteristics. Through the analysis above, we know the reason why Korean plays get popular in China. The playwright characterize, its works on purpose for pleasing the audience. Actually this action is for gaining the profit in today's consuming society. These successful works and the selling mode is something China's film industry can learn and draw lessons from.
