The Study On The Adjectives Of HanFeiZi

Hanfeizi is a more important book in the zhanguo. It is a certain book and rich in content . Its style closer to spoken language, that can more comprehensively reflect the look of the language in Zhou and Qin, that has the more important position in the Chinese history. Adjective is one of the three major categories of Chinese, occupies a very important position in the Chinese categories system. The number of adjectives significantly increased in the late Warring States, more rich meanings advanced, grammatical function of performance is even more comprehensive. Therefore, the thesis study the adjectives in Hanfeizi, mainly describe and analysis the grammatical function of these adjectives, meanwhile concerns in regard to some semantic differences, summed up a number of grammatical featurest of the adjective in Hanfeizi.The thesis is divided into three parts, including introduction, main content and conclusion:The first part is the introduction,mainly explain the meaning and reasons of the thesis, as well as the current studies on adjectives in Hanfeizi.The second part is the main part of the thesis, including five chapters:The first three chapters introduce the life of Han fei and the edition of Hanfeizi, discusse the relevant principles of study on adjectives in Hanfeizi and the determining criteria for the adjectives, statistic the number of adjectives in Hanfeizi , divide these adjectives into two major categories :quality and state.Fourth and fifth chapters is the central part of the main content. The fourth chapter disscuss the sitiuation of attribute,predicate,subject,object,adverbialmodifier and complement phrase. Through specific language fact, we sum up some differences of the quality and the state adjectives in the grammatical function. From the the semantic relations of the adjective and object, according to the situation adjectives of Hanfeizi, we discusse the problem of adjective object of the ancient Chinese. The fifth chapter use the cognitive linguistics theories, from the semantic respect we classify adjectives in Hanfeizi and discusse the association semantic category and grammatical function of the adjectives in Hanfeizi. The third part is the conclusion, sum up the general picture and its grammatical characteristics of adjectives in Hanfeizi.
