The notion of perceived academic self-efficacy was defined as students'judgments & beliefs of their capabilities to attain designated types of educational performances. What it involves is a student's self-confident degree of study ability to oneself, including study behavior self-efficacy and study ability self-efficacy. Personality, individual manners formed in the long time of life, of cross-temporal and cross-regional constancy, has a strong impact on perceived self-efficacy. What sort of impact such an influential factor as personality may have on perceived academic self-efficacy of independent college students turns out the focus of this research?The major purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between the personality characteristics of independent college students and their perceived academic self-efficacy. Some independent college students in Guizhou province were tested with their personality characteristics and perceived academic self-efficacy, and were evaluated by perceived academic self- efficacy questionnaire and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ). With the data processed by SPSS, the main results of this research are as follows:1.Independent college students have medium study ability self-efficacy and study behavior self-efficacy, to be partial to up. The study ability self-efficacy of Non-independent college students is a little higher than that of independent college students, but don't show differences in study behavior self-efficacy.2.There are 34.6% of students in independent college belonging to a typical model extrovert type ,1.6% a typical model introvert type ,24.3% of students whose motion are unsteady and 16.7% of students who hardly adapt exterior environment.3.There exit differences among sex, only child or not, study result, student source about study ability self-efficacy, among which boy students, the not-only child, those who do well in study and those who come from countryside have a high level in study ability self-efficacy. There exit differences in study behavior self-efficacy and students doing well in study have a high level.4.There exit differences among sex, study result, academics, family economic condition and mothers'cultural degree about introversion and extroversion of independent college students. There exit differences among sex, study result, academics, family economic condition and mothers'cultural degree about introversion and extroversion of independent college students. Among them students studying well, school of arts student, students whose family economic condition is nice, students whose mothers'cultural degree is higher are more extrovert; There exit no differences among variables about neuroticism, but differences in race, study result about psychotic, of which national minority students, students doing well in study have a higher point.6.The variables which have significant regression effects to perceived academic self-efficacy are, one by one in order, introversion and extroversion, psychotic, neurotic. Among them, introversion and extroversion are always acting as a direct prediction effect to study ability self-efficacy, but psychotic and neurotic being inverse regression effects to study behavior self-efficacy.Based on the results of the demonstrative survey and the research, suggestions are made to enhance independent college students'perceived academic self-efficacy.
