In the tides of globalization, the national culture diversity is facing unprecedented impact and challenge. How to protect and inherit unique culture and language of every nation and at the same time develop and enrich our country culture's diversity has become a hot problem of study. Bilingual education and the bicultural education should complement each other. The value of bilingual education goes beyond training of bilingual talents to protection of national heritage and development of language. Minority languages education is an important aspect of the bilingual education. Through minority language learning, student can protect fine traditional culture of ethnic minorities.Xibe nationality is one of Chinese nations, which has long history and splendid culture. Modernization and various external cultures impose great difficulty on the protection of rich and unique culture and language of Xibe nationality. If we do not take it seriously and act correspondingly, excellent culture of Xibe nationality will fade and disappear gradually. . This paper firstly analyzes the interactive role betwween minority languages education and the protection of cultural heritage. Based on this, take YiLi Qapqal Xibe autonomous county of Xinjiang as an example, this paper investigates and analyzes problems in the Xibe language education. Finally, it proposes practical strategies on how to strengthen Xibe language education and promote protection of Xibe cultural heritage.This paper is divided into five sections. The first section introduces background , meaning , methodology, current status of the study as well as domestic and international literature on this topic. The second section analyzes the interactive role betwween minority languages education in the protection of cultural heritage based on the appropriate understanding of minority language education and protection of cultural heritage. The third section summarizes characteristics of the Xibe culture and describes the current status of its protection and inheritage. Section four presents existing problems in this field, which were discovered through field study of the Xibe language schools of the Qapqal Xibe Autonomous County and etic and emic analysis. Section five proposes practical strategies on how to strengthen minority language education and promote protection of Xibe cultural inheritage , which consist of setting education targets, , offering characteristic home village courses , improving quality of teachers, building campus culture and national culture atmosphere in the society etc.
