This thesis profits from the literature view "the internal research" and "the exterior research" of American literary theoretician Rene Wellek and Austin Warren, we also have referred to "internal and external elements of language" proposed by Switzerland linguist F. de Saussure, as well as the research method of "internal linguistics" and "external linguistics", carrying on the analysis discussion to the letter words' research condition from the angles of crosswise (exterior) and longitudinal (interior)in mainland. "Exterior research" of letter words refers to relations between the letter word and social, cultural and other discipline, the letter words' "Interior research" is takes the letter words one language phenomenon, embarks the inspection research which from the linguistics inherent law carries on, researching on letter words' structure system.
