Lyric Variation: The Arts Development Of Lyric Fairy Tale In The 20^th Century Of China

"Lyric" as a means of artistic expressions or a writer's writing style exists in the fairly tales, but few people research in the study of lyrical fairy tales. This paper will be based on the concept of lyric fairy tales and quests for the historical development of China's lyrical fairy tales in the 20th century.This paper is investigating on the fairy tales written by Ye Shengtao, Yan Wenjing, Zong Pu and Bing Bo, endeavoring to restore the development of lyric fairy tales in 20th century. We can see three steps in its development over a long history: realistic in lyrical themes, romantic in lyrical style, modernistic in lyrical forms.At the beginning of this paper, we make a definition of "fairy tale" and "lyric" concept definition, pointing out the concrete scope of lyrical fairy tales. At the same time, we simply introduce the various historical situations of lyric fairy tales as well as three steps and three characteristics in its development.Firstly, paper analyses internal and external reasons of the produce of Chinese lyric fairy tales. Though the analysis of Scarecrow by Ye Shengtao, we seek out three characters of lyrical tale in its budding period: the establishment of poetic style, the change of expressing form, and the expansion of artistic theme.Secondly, paper analyses the impact of "practical utility" in literature towards lyric fairy tales. Lyric fairy tale is the combination of ideal and reality, the combination of sense and sensibility through analyzing the works by Yan Wenjing and Zo Pu so as to keep a balance between the art and reality.Succeeding to the research of sentiment and form in lyric fairy tales by Zo Pu on the second part, we are moving forward on the research of modernized lyric fairy tales with the introduction of the western theory and creative style of lyric fairy tales.Through the above discussion, we finally reach the point that the development of lyric arts transforming from the significance of culture and moral to the significance of sentimental. Traditional lyric fairy tales should be going out of the old way that the lyric fairy tales is for the reality bearing too much the significance of cultural, moral and educational function. Paper discusses the realistic value of lyric fairy tale in the last part.
