Analysis On The Development Of Chinese Classics Institute And Its Characteristics

Chinese traditional culture is a treasure that has been made by the whole nation through five thousand years, which is an important ID for the whole nation. Every Chinese in the world should be proud of it. Therefore, it is our duty and responsibility to preserve and develop Chinese traditional culture. Chinese Classics is the traditional learning of ancient China, which contains the elite part of Chinese traditional culture. Chinese Classics Institute is an important place in terms of cultivating talents with rich Chinese traditional culture and doing research on traditional culture, which plays a key role in preserving and developing Chinese traditional culture.This thesis takes the developing process of Chinese Classics as the key line. Firstly, It looks back the history of Chinese Classics, and mainly focuses on the Chinese Classics Institutes in the 1920s. Then it describes the rising of Chinese Classics since the 21st century, and it takes the Chinese Classics Institute in Beijing University,Renmin University of China,Xiamen University and Capitital Normal University as the case study, analyzing the condition in terms of curriculum, faculty, research etc. Last, it raises the following suggestions according to the issues that Chinese Classics Institute has at present.First, the Chinese government should consider accrediting Chinese Classics as a degree of study, which can facilitate the cultivation of talents with rich knowledge integrating art, philosophy and history.Second, the Chinese Classics Institute should step out of the researching office, and get in touch with the outside world frequently. On one hand, Chinese Classics Institute can get more investments from the society. On the other hand, it can make greater achievements for the popularization of Chinese Classics.Third, Chinese Classics Institute should strengthen the cooperation with others, both at home and abroad, which makes Chinese Classics with the characteristics of modernization and globalization.Last but not the least, We should make full use of the CIT and Internet to facilitate the research and education of Chinese Classics.
