How could one survive in a world of great mutability? And in a time when changes took part so frequently and rapidly that the true value of human was inevitably ignored, how could one man as individual interact with others, even with the grand whole Time? As one of the most important and prolific philosopher of the late stoic school, Lucius Annaeus Seneca held high the banner of Humanity and deplored the actions which deviated from the Humanity. With a kind of philosophical speculation calling for the Humanity, he exhorted and warned the individuals, communities and the time of the value of human, more over, made philosophical reflections and prescribed "therapies" on the "syndromes" of the people and the time. The dissertation is based on the copious philosophical texts of Seneca, mainly focused on his discussion of moral issues. We try to introduce and summarize Seneca's philosophy with the name of "Therapeutic Philosophy". We also make analyses on the methods and the effects of its "therapy", and try to re-evaluate them from contemporary perspective with phenomenological view. The author believes that as a kind of philosophy related to the dimension of inter-subjectivity, Seneca's Therapeutic Philosophy has so much power beyond the limits of region and the time that can inspire us much on solving those emerging "syndromes" of today's world.
