Written Discussion On Oil Painting

From the day when western artists like Giuseppe Castiglione came to China in Qing Dynasty and some early Chinese artists like Li Tiefu went abroad to study,to the time that Liu Haisu created Shanghai Fine Art School,Chinese oil painting had gone through a hundred years of history.During this period,Chinese artists learnt from others and concentrated on study,exploring firmly on how to inosculate the traditional culture and the oil painting.After the Reforms and Opening in China,Chinese oil painting has undergone an unprecedented prosperity and development.Especially with the influx of western culture,the classical style, Neo-literatic Painting,Abstract Art of the Chinese oil painting emerged,and Chinese oil painting genre gradually went through the Trauma Painting,Local Painting,Ruffian and Cynicism Realism,and Politics Popular Art.However,the spirits of Realism and True-life style have maintained their influence so far.Combining my understanding of the development of Chinese oil painting and my oil painting creation,I talk about the process of oil painting creation on what to paint and how to paint in this paper.This paper also refers to the function of painting in social culture life.By doing this,I firmly determine to follow the style of realistic painting.
