Study On Origin And Development Of The Cases In 'Shigongan'

The long serial novel'Shigongan'was appeared in middle Qing dynasty, which had a huge structure compared with the short serial novel that was popular in late Ming dynasty. From the the book formed 97 chapters in Jiaqing three years (in 1798) and developed continuously to 1,200,000 characters, 528 work in Guangxu 29 (in 1903). This could got us a glimpse of its popularity then..The detective-style fiction has already had a considerable development in our country before"shigong an ", and many of them were stemed from the legal matter story created before it . Besides, because the novel was spreaded by the folk traditional entertainment involving the way of talking and singing before it became the books form ,it also retained massive trace of literature of mixed prose and verse. The thesis focuses on seeking the source and course of"shigongan", and analyzes the different connotation and features it endowed with through tracing the changing process in different historical background and different literary style by taking two piece of concrete cases as examples.The thesis has five parts totally. The second part is a summary of detective-style fiction research of academic circle in recent years. The forth part is presented with table form to make the source and course of the case story more clearly, and then summarizes the novlel's writing characteristics. The last part is a contrastive analyse of differrent features and the reasons produced in different historical background and different literary style by choosing two cases.
